The Love of Jesus

“Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God (Mark 10:14).

“And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily, I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them” (Mark 10:13-16).

Jesus loves and cares for all boys and girls everywhere. He wants to live in your hearts. He has a plan for each of you and wants to lead your lives.

Once, while talking to His friend, Jesus taught that boys and girls are much more important to God than flowers and birds.

Birds do not plant seeds and store up food. God feeds them. He helps them find bugs and seeds to eat. Flowers live only a few days. God gives them beautiful shapes and colors. You are much more important to Him than these. So if God takes care of the birds and flowers, He will certainly take care of all boys and girls. See Matthew 6:25-33.

He gives you food and clothes and helps you to be good and kind. You need to put your trust in Him, for He knows what is best for you. He is a loving God who wants to help all those who are in need. In your troubles, or sickness, or sorrow, He will help you. The Bible says, “If we ask anything according to His will, he heareth us” (1 John 5:14).

A father had two sons. The younger son said, “Give me my share of the money.” He took it and went far away from home. He and his friends wasted the money, having a good time. Soon it was all spent. Then his friends left him alone.

A man gave him work feeding pigs, but he did not have anything to eat. He was so hungry!

He thought, “My father’s servants have much to eat. I will go home, and I will say to my father, ‘I have sinned. I can no longer be like a son. May I work for you as a servant?’” and the younger son started for home.

The father was watching and waiting for his son. How he missed him! When he saw his son coming, he ran and hugged him and kissed him!

The son said, “Father, I have sinned. I am no more worthy to be called your son. Just let me be one of your hired servants.”

But the father had already forgiven him. He told his servants, “Put a coat and shoes on him. Kill a calf, and we will have a happy dinner together. For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.” From Luke 15:11-24.

This story shows how Jesus loves all sinners. The Bible says, “There is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth” (Luke 15:10).

The Bible tells us another story about how much God loves everyone.

One day a man walked down a lonely road. He met robbers in the way. They jumped on him and hurt him. They took his clothes and his money. Then they ran away. The man was badly hurt. He could not get up.

A priest came down the road and saw the man who was hurt, but he did not help him. He hurried by on the other side of the road.

A Levite came down the road. He also saw the man who was hurt and stopped to look at him, but he did not help him either. He walked by on the other side, too.

A Samaritan came riding down the road on his donkey. When he saw the man who was hurt, he stopped to see if he could help him. He washed his cuts with oil and wrapped them up. He put the man on his donkey and took him to the nearest inn.

In the morning, the good Samaritan said to the innkeeper, “Take care of the man until he is well. Here is money to pay you. If it is not enough, I will pay you more when I come again.” Found in Luke 10:30-35.

Jesus wants us to be loving and kind to those who are in need. When the love of Jesus lives in our hearts, we will do nothing because we are proud or selfish. But in humility, we will think more of others than we do of ourselves. We will not look only to our own interests, but will try to think and understand how others feel, too. The Bible says, “By love serve one another” (Galatians 5:13).

We are to love our enemies and forgive those who treat us wrongly. We are never to return evil for evil.

When we have the love of Jesus in our hearts, we will be kind to our friends, obedient to our parents, and happy to tell other boys and girls what the Lord has done for us.

Jesus loved us so much that He died on the cruel cross for our sins. Now we should love Him so much that we give our hearts and lives to Him.

“We love him, because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19).

God Is the Loving Father

By Mabel Niedermeyer and George F. Root

1. God is the loving Father
Of children everywhere;
No matter where their homes are,
They live within His care.

2. He loves all those in far lands
Whom I may never see;
He also loves the children
Who live next door to me.

CHORUS

I’m glad God is the Father
Of children everywhere,
And that we all may love Him
And talk with Him in prayer.

The Answer For You-Peace and Calmness

Do you know that there is Someone who knows everything about you? It is God who created the world and everything in it. Jesus, God’s Son, also knows everything that you have ever done. He knows the past, present, and future. He loves you and came to this world to save you from sin. He has a plan for your life to bring you happiness.

One day Jesus was traveling with His friends. He came to a village in Samaria. Jesus sat down by a well to rest while His friends went to buy food.

As Jesus was sitting there, a woman came to get water from the well. Jesus asked her, “Can you give me a drink of water?”

The woman was surprised. “You asked me for a drink? Don’t you know that I am a Samaritan and your people, the Jews, don’t have anything to do with us?”

Jesus gently answered, “If you really knew about God and who you are talking to, you would have asked me to give you living water. I would gladly have done it.”

The woman looked at Him in surprise. “Sir,” she said, “the well is deep. You have nothing to draw with. How will you draw out this living water?”

Again Jesus replied, “Those who drink from this well will get thirsty again. But if you drink the water that I can give, you will never thirst again.”

“Sir,” the woman said, “give me this water so I won’t ever be thirsty again nor will I need to come back here to get water.”

“Go, tell your husband and come back here,” Jesus said.

“I don’t have a husband,” she replied.

“That is true,” Jesus said. “You have had five husbands, but the one you have now is not your husband.”

How does this Man know about me? she wondered. “Sir, I can see that you are a prophet. I have a question for you. My people have worshipped God here at this place. You say that Jerusalem is the place to worship.”

Jesus told her, “It is not so important where we worship; today true believers can worship the Father in spirit and in truth anywhere.”

“I know that the Messiah is coming who is called Christ,” she said, “and when He comes, He will explain everything.”

Then Jesus simply told her, “I am He.”

She left her water pot and went back into the city. “Come,” she cried, “come and see a Man Who has told me everything that I have ever done. Is He not the Christ?”

Then the people of the city went out to meet Jesus. Many believed that He was the Christ, the Savior, because He knew everything about them. You can read this account in the Bible in St. John 4:3-42.

Jesus knows everything about us, the good as well as the bad. We would like to hide the bad things we have done in our lives, but we can’t hide them from Jesus. He has come to save us from the punishment we deserve for doing wrong. He can take away that heavy feeling we feel in our hearts and give us peace. He died to take away our sins and make it possible that we can have a home in heaven when we die.

Jesus is the answer to all of your needs and all of your questions. He wants to be your friend. He wants to fill the emptiness in your heart. He can replace your fear and unrest with peace and calm.

Jesus says, “Come unto me…and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Just pray to God and tell Him you are sorry for your sins. Ask Jesus to come into your life. As you commit yourself to this great God in faith, He will abide in your heart. His presence will give you joy. He will give you strength and purpose in life. He will be the answer for you.

Only One True God Do You Know Him?

Everyone worships something. Some people worship objects, some worship a man, some worship an image, and others worship themselves. They reveal their devotion to their god in various ways. As the multitude of these people give their devotion to these gods, there still remains a longing and cry in their hearts. These people are able to find only a temporary relief for the cry of their souls and have little courage to face tomorrow. To their disappointment the future is always the same as the past. The god they are serving is unable to fill the void in their lives.

Whom do you worship? Where does your god live? Is he alive? What did he do for you today? Did you talk with him today? Did he answer the cry of your heart? What do you believe?

Let me introduce you to the one true God who has conquered Satan, our greatest enemy. He is the God of creation, who spoke everything into existence. The Holy Bible will tell you of this God of heaven, who created man from the dust of the earth. Read Genesis, chapters one and two.

He is the eternal God. He has no beginning and no end. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is the Creator, Preserver and Sustainer of all things (Acts 17:22-34).

This great God who dwells in the heavens is also interested in you as a person. He sees you among the masses of people. He loves and cares for you. He wants to be more than your friend. He has sent His Son to be your Savior. He wants to live with you, and even more than that, He wants to live within you. He says, “Abide in me, and I in you” (John 15:4).

If He does not dwell in your heart, who does? By looking about us we can see that Satan is ruling and ruining the lives of the masses of people. He is the one who rules these hearts. He suggests all these evils such as lying, stealing, lusting, cheating, seeking revenge, and self-promotion. If Satan lives in your heart, and entices you to indulge in any of these sins and more, why not come to the God of gods who has given His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for your sins and the sins of the whole world (John 3:16).

You ask, “How can this be true? How can One, who is so great, all powerful, and almighty dwell in my heart” (Isaiah 57:15)?

If you are sick and tired of sin, why not call upon God and repent. Through faith in God and by the atoning blood of Christ your sins will be forgiven and you will receive a new nature. Then when Satan comes to tempt, you will feel the presence of the almighty God. He will give you direction and teach you in all things (John 14:26).

In John 10:10, Jesus promises an abundant life and He is able to give it to you. This gift will be yours as long as you remain faithful and obedient to Him. “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land” (Isaiah 1:19). No other God is this great. If this speaks to your heart, you may want to read the tract: Ye Must Be Born Again.
